Chocolate Radu detailThe Annapurna bakery has evolved over the past six years and continues to evolve as we cater to the specialized requests for baked treats. The bakery was built on the premise of providing the sweet taste as prescribed in Ayurveda. However, this is a bakery that is unique as we do not have standard recipes because we are constantly trying new ingredients to provide the alternative baked goods to create a healing food. We choose to specialize to provide baked treats for people who have not had baked goods in years due to food allergies. Including dessert in the midday meal is one way of incorporating the sweet taste into your food.

The bakery has evolved into a full service bakery specializing in wheat free, dairy free, egg free, gluten free and sugar free desserts. We use only the finest ingredients and never have used hydrogenated oils, trans fats, white sugar or white flour. While most of our desserts are vegan, some include butter and cream. The quality of ingredients is the most important aspect of the bakery. We use organic dairy products, natural sweeteners such as fruit juice, fresh or dried fruits, maple syrup, brown rice syrup, agave nectar and or a limited amount of organic raw cane sugar. Our flours include organic whole grain types. White flour has never featured in any item in the bakery at any time. We use a variety of gluten free flours to come up with ways of replacing white flour in traditional recipes. Every item produced in our bakery is through trial and error creating the finest in alternative baked goods.Our power packed cookies include the gingerellas, zuchinni cranberry, oatmeal chocolate chip. These cookies make great midday snacks and will satisfy your cravings for sweets. The gingerellas are made with fresh ginger and molasses. Zuchinni cranberry cookies are very popular even though a vegetable is lurking somewhere in your dessert. Our dried fruit is unsulphured and our chocolate chips are unsweetened and vegan. The cardamom cookies are by far the most popular cookies at Annapurna since inception. Cardamom cookies are an example of the occasional indulgence of butter. These cookies are so popular that we are often asked to ship this product to other states. Our gluten free almond cookies are sweetened with brown rice syrup and totally protein enhanced through all those almonds. An absolute treat for celiacs. Our gluten free joanne cookies are sweetened with maple syrup and protein enhanced with pecans, making this another treat for celiacs. Our gluten free yoyos are also an option for celiacs.

Award-winning Vegan Carrot CakeThe vegan carrot cake at Annapurna is award winning and by far the best cake to come out of our bakery. Clients take the carrot cake to parties and report back to us that people did not even realize they were fighting over the last piece of a VEGAN cake. We need not say more. Our ginger bread mini loaves and slices are proving to be another favorite, now that the fall is here. Once again fresh ginger and molasses is what we use for this product. Speaking of Fall, it is pie time again. The bakery will feature gluten free and vegan pies. Pies are sweetened with maple syrup, agave nectar and brown rice syrup. Selections will include pumpkin, sweet potato, pecan and coconut cream. We use fresh pumpkins and sweet potatoes in our pies, a rather elaborate task for the humble pie.

Ladus(balls of sweet) are also a popular item at Annapurna. All gluten free and in some cases unsweetened such as the apricot, cranberry and date chocolate. These unique treats are all natural and not even cooked or baked. Even though our bakery is so much trial and error, we have mastered some products and are ready to share this knowledge with you through our cooking and baking classes.
